Whiskey and Dust is founded on the principles of participation and teamwork. We promote active participation from all camp members during planning, preparation, and on the Playa.

Our goal on the Playa is to achieve Balance.

Half of each members effort should be dedicated to the camp's gifts as well as there own gifts / expression. The other half should be spent learning, and participating in the immediacy of the Burning man community.

We promote radical self-reliance yet provide a safe environment where we take care of each other, physically and emotionally, when needed. We do not tolerate disruptive behavior. Each camp member is responsible to monitor themselves and their guests.

Our theme camp is primarily a daytime yoga space dedicated to relaxation and playful activity. We want to create an atmosphere where people feel pampered and are encouraged to interact with us and each other. We believe in welcoming people into our friendly space to not only receive our gifts but to pass them on as well.

The Concept is simple. Capitalize on what the Burning Man community desires more of (Yoga, Healing, and amazing hand Jobs). This are the main stay of the camp and we are adding more events (twice daily yoga) and more shade to facilitate more people. These events will attract up to 100 people each time run. (you ask where did I get that number? why, last year, we always need more shade.)

At the same time we are challenging our selves to be creative and different. The different will include Whiskey tastings, Wine tastings, hula hoop, and juggling training. If it comes back as a event in 2011 you will know if the event worked.

The Art is a mild Protest towards American gentrification of suburban communities. Yes we do live in the tiny little houses with little white picket fences. It is "cute" at the same time disturbing on a grander social level. A throw back from the American dream. Now totally acceptable in the anti-Metropolis theme.

The spontaneous random events that go off at Burning man are some times the best. We encourage camp mates to generate random events at random times to involve random passer buys........ Hippie fishing does this (so simple, so stupid, but so fun.)
